Rancho Pinot - Restaurant Review

Comfort food is celebrated by Chef Chrysa Kaufman and the patrons of Rancho Pinot, where seasonal regional ingredients grace the contemporary bistro-style American cuisine menu. Chef Chrysa heads the Phoenix chapter of Slow Food, and infuses her food with the value of the dining table as the center of pleasure, culture, and community. The menu balances rustic elegance with refined technique in dishes like the Nonni’s Sunday Chicken and the Hand-Made Pasta. An extensive and thoughtful wine list accompanies the heart-warming menu, and entices the palate with selections that promise to both challenge and reward the taste buds.

Address: 7299 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85253 (Map)

Roka Akor

Voted one of the top 10 sushi restaurants in the U.S. by Bon Appetit Magazine , Roka Akor surpasses the average sushi joint with its unique robata grill. The robata grill is a traditional, tiered open grill that uses bincho tan, a particular type of coal found only in the Japanese fishing town of Wakayama that brings out the natural flavor of the grilled ingredients. Also unique to Roka Akor are their signature Schochu tonic cocktails, made with fresh fruit and a liquor resembling vodka that dates back to 14th century Japan. With a 12 course prix fixe menu that will fill you to the brim and happy hours every night, Roka Akor is a Japanese experience diners won’t soon forget.

Talavera

Talavera is a type of vibrant Mexican pottery, and the restaurant appropriately shares the bright colors of the craft through its interior design, as well its cuisine. Contemporary American fare makes a bold presence on the menu, which focuses on meats, poultry, fresh seafood and other game, as well as signature dishes.
