The Landmark Restaurant - Restaurant Review

Seeped in history, the Landmark restaurant is truly a Phoenix landmark. Located in a building that served as a church, a college, and offices for an insurance company, the Landmark Restaurant is a little slice of Phoenix’s past. But don’t come here just for a history lesson. The menu is filled with succulent steaks, delicate seafood, and classic comfort food such as Beef Stroganoff, Stuffed Meatloaf, and Grilled Ham. A dining experience at the Landmark is not complete without the “salad room”—an entire room converted to a salad bar, featuring both traditional and eclectic, hearty and healthy, and hot and cold “salad” fare. Entrance to the room is included with any entrée and is also available separately—one trip could easily be as a meal in itself.

Overal Rating: 9 Tonto Bar and Grill

Address: 5736 E. Rancho Mañana Blvd., Cave Creek, AZ 85331 (Map)

Tonto Bar and Grill

Tonto Bar and Grill captures the true essence of the Southwest dining experience. The Fireplace Room looks like a living room out of an old western movie, and the main dining room is decorated in an Old West fashion. This restaurant uses fresh ingredients and their salad dressings, soups, sauces, breads, and desserts are prepared daily. The menu is full of “New American” cuisine options with a southwestern style. Fish, meat, pasta, and vegetarian dishes provide a large range of entrees to choose from. Tonto’s also provides all-natural meats for the majority of their meat entrees. The Sonoran Cowboy Plate is made of “all natural” mesquite wood grilled chili lime pork chop, ancho chili, braised nopalitos, mashed ranchero beans with queso fresco, and escabeche vegetable slaw.

Address: 623 E. Adams St., Phoenix, AZ 85004 (Map)

Pizzeria Bianco

Notorious for their long lines and long wait, customers keep coming back to Pizzeria Bianco for their famous pizzas, salads and brews. All pizzas are oven roasted, and even though there are only 6 selections to choose from, each option is eager to please, more notably their popular Rosa Pizza with red onion, parmigiano reggiano, rosemary and Arizona pistachios. Pistachios on a pizza? Full of surprises, the modestly simply Pizzeria Bianco will leave your belly satisfied.

The extensive menu also includes an array of mesquite-fired steaks, seafood, and burgers. All entries include a soup or salad, a choice of potato, and, of course, El Chorro’s famous sticky buns.
